Surfing Barbados: The island offers some of the best Kite and Wind surfing locations in the Caribbean. The best launch sites are on the south-east coast of Barbados. With constant side shore winds and waves rolling in from the Atlantic ocean the conditions are amazing.
Surfers will enjoy the challenging breaks at Soup Bowl located on the rugged east coast. Located in the beautiful surf town of Bathsheba, this break is not for the novice. Swells are large and the current swift making this a place for only experienced riders.
The Kite Boarding Scene: Warm water and steady winds make Barbados an excellent kite Surfing destination. The Trade Winds pick up in December and continue through July, with two to four foot waves on the reef about 300 yards off shore

Most of the kite boarding is done on the southeast coast, with clear access to the prevailing northeast and easterly trade winds. Several of the beaches have schools and lessons available.
Long Beach. As the name implies, Long Beach is a long beach farther upwind of Silver Rock Beach.
The long, crowd-free beach and a more mellow wave scene make it a better choice for beginners. Great opportunity for down winders from Long Beach to Silver Rock.
Silver Rock : Is the the main kite board launch in Barbados and home of Brian "Irie Man" Talma and the De Action rental and lesson school.
Here you can rent gear and take lessons from some of the top pros on the island. Silver Rock is a little busy at times with 50+ Kites up in the air. It is the place to be seen and to watch some of the best surfers from all over the world.
